Apple (NASDAQ AAPL) recently shared a tribute to the late actor Robin Williams on the official store homepage. Earlier this week, the world lost one of Hollywood’s finest actors Robin Williams. This prompted many fans and fellow celebrities to share their condolences on social media and other websites. Tech giant Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL) recently joined in with a tribute page on it’s official website.

The official message from Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL) states they are saddened by the loss of Robin Williams. It was added Williams inspired all with his great generosity and laughter. Apple also recently set up a selection of movies starring Robin Williams in the iTunes store.

Apple’s executives also shared their condolences through Twitter. The company’s chief executive officer Tim Cook tweeted his condolences, calling Williams an incomparable talent and a wonderful person. Philip Schiller added that Williams made the world a better place.

Last December, Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL) shared a tribute page for Nelson Mandela. His tribute page also featured a black-and-white portrait as well as his birth and death year. Cook also shared his condolences for Mandela through Twitter. The company has a tradition of using space to remember newly deceased artists, world figures, or Apple family members.

Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL) didn’t add Robin Williams’ tribute page to Apple.com’s landing page but the memorial is prominently featured on the rotating plane carousel that also leads to sites like iOS 8, Apple’s Diversity report, and back-to-school sale. Interestingly enough, one of William’s last projects was for the inaugural ad spot for the iPad campaign. For this ad, he recited monologue from The Dead Poets Society. This ad serves a basis for most iPad ads.

Williams first found career success with sitcom Mork & Mindy which spanned from 1978 to 1982. He since has starred in many films including Good Will Hunting, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Aladdin. Even though he was known for his comedic roles in films, one of his most memorable roles was the drama film Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon.
