Apple’s MacBook Pro: New Specs

Apple refreshed its laptop lineup of MacBook Pro. Do not expect that it is about feeds as well as speeds this time. This year update of MacBook Pro is considered to a significant revamp.

The new MacBook Pros come with better basic specs compared to their predecessors. The 13-inch MacBook Pro is based on the Sandy Bridge platform of Intel. As for its hard drives, they start at 320 GB. It is offered with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. The device is a bit faster at 1333 MHz.

The 15-inch device is powered by a quad-core 2.0 GHz Core i7. 500 GB is considered to be the smallest hard drive. When it comes to the 17-inch version, it packs in a 2.2 GHz Core i7.

Back in October Apple launched Facetime. The new MacBook Pros feature better cameras that can be used for video chat. Although the company did not disclose the resolution of the Facetime HD camera, it is still better compared to last year’s models.

The new MacBook Pros is equipped with Thunderbolt. It is a technology developed by Intel under the code name Light Peak. According to Apple, Thunderbolt is supportive to transfer speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second. Apart from that it provides support for Firewire, PCI Express, USB as well as gigabit Ethernet taking advantage of adapters. The jack can remind you DisplayPort. It can be connected to external monitors. Adapters are supportive to the following formats: VGA, DVI as well as HDMI. The goal of Intel and Apple is to implement Thunderbolt in other device in order to take advantage of fast speeds.

The starting price of the 13-inch MacBook Pro is $1,199, while the 15-inch version starts at $1,799. $2,499 is the starting price of the 17-inch model.
