Every time Facebook changes something, they tend to upset a lot of people that are die hard users. Facebook is now thinking of changing their Privacy Policy in order to make way for new content and products that they want to implement. One of these is allowing preapproved third party sites to gain access to your public information such as your photo, friends list, and name. The thought behind this is that if you visit these third party sites you would get a more personalized experience.
Third Party Site Info Sharing
If users do not wish to have their information traded with these third party sites, they can always opt out, but you should keep in mind that if, and when, this service is enabled, it will opt you in automatically by default. The good news is that by logging out of Facebook before you visit any of these third party sites, they won’t be able to gather any information about you.
Last year Facebook made a change to its policy stating that they (Facebook) owned users data even after they deleted their accounts. After the Electronic Privacy Information Center announced that it intended to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Facebook decided to back off and, instead, changed their policy to note that they would inform users of any proposed changes before they were to be implemented. Since Facebook has posted about the changes they are looking into, it covers them legally from any fallout that might occur now or in the future with giving your information away
