Hello folks, we’re happy to bring to you the astounding results of the GSL StarCraft II players. The long tense battles came focused down to Jung Hoon and Jae Duck. Both of them had quite an interesting knack for nicknames.
Jae assumed “Nes Tea” and Hoon’s accompaniment was “Boxer”. Sorry to break it to fans of Boxer, it was Nes Tea who got away with the winnings. However, the highlights were quite interesting; the seven series nail biting tournament was quite heavy on Boxer’s side.
Boxer jumped ahead with two early, but strong wins. One of them was sought by this lucky fella through the all-in Marine rush on Shakuras Plateau. However, Boxer’s Thor Drops were more than enough to pack a punch. Spectators were amazed by Boxer’s ability to control units that were besides Marines, something quite uncommon for a fast paced Star Craft II match.
Nes got lucky in the 3rd round. Being a Zerg favorer, he ricocheted across Scrap Station and Jungle Basin like a bullet. All he had to do was create heavy Roach/Baneling units, match them with a couple of Nydus Worms and there you have it. Boxer was easily harassed.
Zerg category doesn’t primarily favor the Jungle Basin. Maybe Boxer was over stressed or tense, he shed extra attention to the Marine Bunker push strategy, which made him lag behind on the overall performance.
The 5th game took off on Steppes of War; it is a small 1 on 1 map with little or no room for wasting time. Give me the Steppes of War any day, and its bashing time within the first five minutes. Boxer was a little aggressive in this round, which almost cost him the game. All thanks to Siege Tanks, Nes Tea’s attacks were countered at the 11th hour.
The tournament ended with $87,000 in winnings. Boxer scurried back to his room probably, while Nes Tea announced a change of his nick. The start studded player will be going for Optimus from now on, since he belongs to the Prime clan, Optimus Prime would be making a lot of sense.
