According to reports, sales of the iPad 3G of Apple started last weekends. Moreover, they are considered to be great.

Actually, Apple started to offer the iPad 3G on late Friday afternoon in the U.S. The prices for the devices started from $499. The reports that the company received are considered to be a good sign.  Probably another good sign for Apple is that it has decided to postpone its iPad’s overseas launch. The thing is that the company is trying to meet requirements in the U.S.

It was estimated that about 300,000 units of the 3G version were sold over the weekend. But still Apple did not reveal its own sales figures. According to Best Buy, the company sold out its limited inventory.

Although the Wi-Fi version went on sale just on Saturday, 300,000 were sold. According to Muster, Apple managed to sell over a million of iPads altogether. One should note that is considered to be a respectable number for a new category of device.

It would be quite interesting to see whether Apple is able to sustain sales of the device as we are expecting rival tablets in the market.

As a matter of fact, Apple is provided a good chance to grab a lot as it is an early adopter market. But the company should understand if it wants to sell out a lot of units, it will have to make a decision concerning price cutting. The 3G model that comes with 64 gigabytes of memory is the most expensive and is available for $829. According to the estimations of Forrester Research, Apple will be able to sell 3 million iPads during this year.
