With the merger of Nokia’s Maemo and Intel’s Moblin, the operating system that will be released, called Meego, might not be available as of yet, but developers are going to get a look at it so they can start working with the key components soon. A post on the Meego community blog stated that this would be a great day for developers as they finally get a peek at the new mobile operating system that will, hopefully, sweep the world and leave everyone awestruck.
Debate on too Many Operating Systems
With competition starting to get a bit out of hand lately for the mobile operating systems, there are quite a few people out there that think there shouldn’t be any more people rushing to put out more operating systems. They think that there are enough of them floating around and by adding more it will only lead to confusion about which one to get. Others seem to think it’s a good idea to push more into to the hands of the public to see what likes and dislikes people are going to have. This will, then, make it easier for developers and manufacturers to simplify the things that work best.
Whichever way to decide to look at it, having a few more operating systems available for mobile phones and mobile computing, in general, shouldn’t cause too many issues with the general public. In fact, there could be something good about having them around as it shows that people have varied interests in what they like and want.
