If you are one of those people that have a Zune media player, you will be happy to hear that Microsoft will be releasing its firmware update sometime in the next few weeks. There will be four new features available for the Zune player, such as, Smart DJ, Picks, advanced video codecs, and the ability to browse and stream content from Zune Marketplace on your own TV.
Zune HD A/V Dock Adds Features
If you have the Zune HD A/V dock, you are able to connect your player to your TV and either view videos or listen to music on a bigger screen. With the addition of this firmware update, not only can you listen to music and watch videos on your TV, with the A/V dock, but you will be able to stream content from the Marketplace directly, a feature that wasn’t available before the update.
The only issue that people are having with the Zune player right now is the fact that its meager 32GB storage capability just isn’t enough to manage all the music and videos that you might want to keep stored. Because of this, there are plenty of rumors going around that Microsoft is in the works of creating a 64GB player that will hold all the media you might want. If this comes to pass, there will be plenty of new customers out there that will want to pick up the new Zune player, and this will boost Microsoft’s profit by a good percentage. Hopefully the rumor turns out to be true very soon.
