Microsoft Kin Twins Are Back: Thanks to Verizon Wireless

 Microsoft-Kin-Twins

Some people call them “Zombie Phones”, while others suggest a much lethal name, such as; “Smartest of the Dumbest Phones”. One way or another, the debate ends up at how dreadful Microsoft’s Kin Mobile Phones used to be. The company pulled them back merely 6 weeks after their release, which is definitely counted as a bad rep, millions of dollars in losses and only 10,000 disgruntled customers.

Since we’re hearing the Kin handsets have been revived due to the Verizon – Microsoft collaboration, let’s see what it’s all about:

Firs thing’s first, both Kin Onem and Kin Twom (new names) are tagged at $120 and $220, which is quite an affordable price. It means that users can get these smartphones for over $15 to $25, with the same old two year contract. As usual, the Kin one has a 5 MP camera, 4 Gb of internal memory and QWERTY keypad for easy tip tapping.

The Kin Two has an 8 MP camera, QWERTY keypad and 8 Gigs of internal memory, with the traditional Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity services. Rest assured, if anyone is looking forward to staying on top of the social networking game, these smartphones are not that bad. Microsoft installed a new Kin browser this time, which primarily sits beneath the $25/Month Verizon Wireless data plan. You do have the options of vouching for $10 or $195/Mb data plans as well; it’s all up to the deranged Kin users.

From a bigger perspective, the possibility if Kins hitting cloud 9 of fame and popularity, is kind of slim. On top of that, the previous Kin reviews were too hard on these smartphones. And it’s true, grudges aside, Kins look like a pair of bricks. You can throw one and pass along the other one to someone you hate.
