Recently, the week extended an open invitation to a handful of jockeys from both the Android and the Google Chrome OS world. The first event was known as “All Things Digital”, an event led by Wall Street Journal. Some guys gathered at a Mobile conference in San Francisco to talk about the future of mobile phones in context of Google’s upcoming apps and achievements.
Later on, we got to have a sneaky look at another event, where Andy Rubin – the Godfather of Android OS showed up and talked about the Chrome OS. This operating system is Google’s lovechild and the company is trying to do whatever it can, to straighten out a few kinks. Nevertheless, Google has launched a Pilot program that curves around the Chrome OS based devices test. Some models of the Chromebook are already circulated across the market to gather end user response concerning his or her experience.
Here’s a list of some questions that people asked during the press event(s):
• What happened to all those Chrome OS hardware partners?
While Chrome OS was loitering in the W.I.P section, the company said that it has partnered with Asus, Acer, Samsung and HP for upcoming notebook and laptop projects. But it turns out that some of those companies have inched back on their decision to develop a Chromebook.
• What other types of Chrome OS devices might be on their way?
According to Google’s blog posts, “Chrome OS is designed to work across a wide range of screen sizes and form factors, enabling our partners to deliver computing devices beyond notebooks.”
The company intends to focus on other aspects of the operating system to offer a multi-faceted experience. As far as we know, those “other aspects” are still not clear.
