Geron Corporation (NASDAQ:GERN) on May 9 announced that it has set May 28, 2014 as the record date for the distribution to Geron stockholders of the Series A Common Stock from Asterias Biotherapeutics, Inc. (“Asterias”) that Geron received in the previously announced transaction to divest Geron`s human embryonic stem cell assets, which closed on October 1, 2013. Geron Corporation (NASDAQ:GERN) rose 10.64 percent to $2.60 Wednesday on volume of 13.52million shares. The intra-day range of the stock was $2.25 to $2.77. American Airlines Group Inc (NASDAQ:AAL) will take delivery of its first Boeing 787, known as the Dreamliner, in November. Passenger flights begin early next year. In the next few months, American pilots will sit in the same simulator and learn the nuances of the controls before they can fly the real plane.
