Ncomputing Announces New Chip

Ncomputing-Chip Friday’s announcement of a chip that can be installed in TV’s that will allow a user to run Windows applications and surf the web from Ncomputing took people by surprise, and promises to up the ante for home based computing worldwide. With the use of a dual core processor allowing systems to run multimedia applications on a host machine, your TV set will act as your desktop computer just like it would on a remote virtual machine.

You will also be able to use this chip on netbooks and slim devices that run the new Android 2.1 operating system. Imagine being able to run your phone applications right from your TV set, talk about bringing the 21st century right into your home! These chips will become available later this year and start at a price of around $20 plus $10 for the parts to connect these to your set.

The best part is that these chips will be able to run the new RemoteFX technology that was announced Thursday by Microsoft. This will allow you to view and interact with rich video, audio, and 3D graphics to rival those of modern computers. With the technology that has started coming out, like these chips, it won’t be long before desktop computers will be transformed into everyday items around your house, allowing you to surf the web from one room to the next without having to worry about lugging around a laptop. Just imagine what it will be like to watch your favorite videos on YouTube while getting ice from your fridge.
