My almost six year old said her father bought her computer for Christmas last year and has been hounding me to get her one so she can play games on Disney.  Obviously, I haven’t wanted to and I don’t let her on mine afraid of what the girl would do to it although she is very mature for her age. 

But, she may just have something coming her way and she’ll be thanking Coby….

Coby is introducing a brand-new, high-tech, modern smartbook at the CeBIT expo this year.  Coby had a wide variety of laptops on display; however, the cheapest and somewhat appealing NBPC722 caught many people’s eye.

This smartbook boasts a 7-inch screen and although it is not as thin as many netbooks todays, the $85 price tag does make up for it.  The Coby NBPC722 has 2GB of flash storage, a 624MHz Marvell PXA303 processor, and Windows CE as well as built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, which is ideal for light internet browsing and e-mailing.

Sure, this smartbook is nothing like others that are out on the market today, but I think that most people would be able to deal with the limitations that this Coby smartbook may have just because of the economical price.  I mean, come on, the smartbook has decent features when the $85 price is considered.

This newly developed, inexpensive laptop should be out on the market sometime this Spring in the US.  I think it would a great addition to the family, especially for the kiddos or those that just need a laptop for a quick e-mail check or to compose an e-mail.  My daughter may just be getting one of these for her birthday.
