Oracle to Construct a Large Data Center

 Oracle-to-Construct-a-Large-Data-Center Oracle has resumed the development of a data center located in the Salt Lake City.

Actually, it is not known why Oracle had ceased building the center. But on Friday it was confirmed by an Oracle spokeswoman that the work resumed.

The potential price of the project is US$285 million.

One can assume that the resumption of construction is considered to be an important indicator for the plans of Oracle concerning on-demand software.

Heretofore, Oracle has SaaS business applications among them one can name CRM on Demand. According to reports, the company got US$779 million during its fiscal 2009. It is considered to be a small fraction of the whole sales.

According to SaaS strategy of Oracle, it is going to ramp up, meaning that the company will launch long-awaited Fusion Applications. It is a next-generation suite that includes best attributes from its various product lines and is equipped with a BI-laden user interface.

In fact, the strategy of Oracle to appear in the market is done carefully. It is explained by the fact that the company tries no to alienate its large installed base of customers on legacy applications.

As customers have a commitments as well as huge investment connected to acquired applications of Oracle like PeopleSoft and Siebel, Oracle is planning to enhance those products.
It is expected that the Fusion Apps strategy will be able to appeal to customers as well as legacy users.

It was estimated that Oracle is developing 20 to 30 SaaS products on the whole.
