According to Business Week, a dozen Apple Stores, situating in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Denver, New York, Miami, as well as San Francisco sold out 3G models. Now customers are putting their names on a waiting list in order to purchase the device.

Actually, just the same happened in my local Apple Store, I heard news when I have decided to call to the Store on Friday afternoon. I learned that it was unknown when new iPad 3G models would be available. Moreover, it turned out that the Wi-Fi models became limited to 16GB unit having the price tag of $499.

In fact, the iPad reached great success due to its new product. On Monday, it was announced by the company that it has already sold 1 million iPads after being launched 28 days ago. But still the inability to offer more iPades 3G can be explained by the fact that Apple is going to launch the iPad abroad. The device will appear in May 28 in the following countries: Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, the UK as well as Switzerland. Also it will ne available in July in Hong Kong, Belgium, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Ireland, Netherlands, Mexico, Singapore and New Zealand.

Some analysts consider that the shortage is caused by touchsceens’ lack.
