According to various sources, a lawsuit has been filled against Google and Youtube, the reason being video streaming infringement. The patent was owned by US firm Max Sounds.

This lawsuit can be a major problem for Google. Sales of a number of Android products may be banned due to this given lawsuit. Max Sound have stated that Google and Youtube infringed upon a patent for transport of digital content. The claim stands for all firms around the world which uses the same technology. Google and Youtube happen to be using it.

The damages for Google could go well into millions of euros. The verdict is to be expected in a year or so. Max Sound sound very positive about the whole issue. As for Google, they would hope to minimize the damage and get this over with as soon as possible.

This lawsuit against Google was filed by Max Sounds in a district court of Germany. The lawsuit was filed against firms which use Max sound’s H.264 and VP8 licenses. Majorly, this lawsuit was targeted towards Google and Youtube. More precisely, it targeted Nexus 5,6 and Nexus 9.

Max Sounds have also reached out to get information regarding the performances of any videos which were streamed in Germany in the mentioned formats. Youtube is another medium which uses the above mentioned licenses. Max Sounds had earlier sued Google in the US with similar infringement charges. They had alleged Google of using trade secrets.
