According to reports, Pfizer Inc. considered buying London-based AstraZeneca plc (ADR) (NYSE:AZN) in informal talks held several months ago. The now-discontinued talks were first reported on Sunday by a media report, which cited sources who said a takeover had been discussed that would have valued AstraZeneca plc (ADR) (NYSE:AZN) at more than 60 billion pounds ($101 billion). AstraZeneca plc (ADR) (NYSE:AZN) dropped -0.06 percent to $63.49 Thursday on volume of 500.00million shares. The intra-day range of the stock was $63.25 to $63.75. AstraZeneca plc (ADR) (NYSE:AZN) has a market capitalization of $80.08billion.

Square Inc has been in talks with several rivals for a possible sale as the mobile payments startup looks to stem widening losses and dwindling cash, the Wall Street Journalreported, citing people familiar with the matter. The company spoke to Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) earlier this year about a possible sale, the Journal reported, adding that it wasn’t clear whether the talks are continuing. On Thursday, shares of Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) dropped -3.67% to close the day at $536.10.
