According to the latest news, Verizon is going to make an iPhone announcement at an event on Tuesday. Verizon has already sent invitations for the event that will be held two days after CES finishes.

On Saturday, it was announced by the Wall Street Journal that Verizon is going to announce the iPhone. If it happens so, it will look like the iPhone 4, and the handset will be enabled with the same interface.

But still there will be some differences. The smartphone will be supportive to CDMA Rev A, which is known to be the wireless technology used by 3G network of Verizon. As a result, Verizon will be able to sell the mobile device in all its markets.

It is expected that it will be a dual-mode mobile device that will be supportive to UMTS, GSM, as well as HSPA+ and it can be used on the 3G network of AT&T.  As a result, Apple can develop one handset that can be offered through AT&T as well as Verizon.

In case the iPhone is a CDMA handset, no doubts it will get LTE. Probably we will witness that Apple and Verizon will release a brand new LTE iPhone on Tuesday.

In fact, an LTE iPhone can send shockwaves, but still it would be a combination of America’s favorite and best smartphone with the best wireless in the US.

But still the tension is high enough as the mobile device geeks await the big show that will be held on Tuesday in New York. It is suggested by the Wall Street Journal that even Steve Jobs will show up.

One should not forget that Verizon is offering most popular smartphones that are based on Android operating system. It would be interesting to see what will be the choice of  Verizon customers: an Android based mobile device or Apple iPhone.
