Viridity’s New Power Management Tools

Viridity If you have a data center and are constantly worried about the power intake, which could cost you a lot of money for power management upgrades, then you will be excited to hear about a new startup company called Viridity. This company is creating a set of tools to help manage your power intake and output without having to work through those costly upgrades to your system.
EnergyCenter Tool
The new EnergyCenter tool from Viridity is capable of calculating the power requirements of IT machines and checks which idle machines might not be required to run at full power. This will help data centers identify possible pockets of surplus power that they can use to run their systems without having to worry about expanding their servers to get that extra bit of power.
Expansion Ahead
For now, Viridity’s tool can only manage servers but they are looking to expand into storage equipment within a few short months. This will be a boon for companies that require the extra storage to run their data centers and give them the power requirements that they may not know they are in need of yet. If you have a system that is using too much power, you can either go the long and expensive route of expanding your server banks, or go the easy route and install this new tool and see where your power is being wasted, and where you can find extra power available for you. This is a great way of keeping the costs of your company down on the ground without having to worry about finding more space to expand into.
